PAYROLL USA INFORMATION
=======================
This product has been distributed in the ShareWare
marketplace since 1986 and for that reason all the documentation is
on disk. Purchase price (Registration) is U.S. $149.95 and the
annual upgrade fee is U.S. $75.00. We include the first year's
upgrade with the registration, example register in 1992 and get 1993
free. Upgrades include changes to Federal Taxes and W-2 forms plus
any other enhancements made that year. State Taxes are user
configurable.
The low price is because of the marketing method as there
are no middlemen or expensive point of sale packaging. It does NOT
indicate a stripped down or inferior system. If you try out the
PAYROLL USA system you will find it has a full set of features that
exceed most of its competitors. Because we are a small company,
users who telephone for technical support also have the advantage of
speaking directly to the person who wrote the program (myself).
Although we are located in Canada, U.S. customers can deal
with us in exactly the same way as a U.S. company. Regular company
or personal checks are accepted and disks can be mailed or sent
overnight by Federal Express. There are no U.S. Customs duties or
taxes on Canadian computer software.
The following is a summary of what I see as the main points
that make PAYROLL USA stand out from other payroll systems for the
IBM PC and 286/386/486 compatibles.
PAYROLL USA - SPECIAL FEATURES
------------------------------
Handles single or multiple companies so companies can either do
their own payroll or the program can be used by accountants to run a
payroll service.
Handles multiple pay frequencies, example weekly, bi-weekly, and
monthly employees can all be on the same file. All pay frequencies
supported - daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, 13 pays, 10 pay
teachers, quarterly, annual. Hourly or Salaried, with or without
Commission.
Flexible - Automatic calculation of pay and taxes can be turned off
for "after the fact" or special circumstances. Many other features
can be customized from the configuration menu. Pop up calculator
can paste results of commission calculations etc.
Completely Menu Driven making it easy to use.
Keeps full record of employee details including performance rating
and date of last pay change, previous rate, and percentage change.
Each employee also has a screenfull of optional free form comments.
Employees can have up to 4 pay rates to handle people who do
multiple jobs (example, in a restaurant the same person may get
different rates depending on whether he/she is cooking or serving
that day). Each pay rate can also have a shift differential.
Vacation and sick accruals can be automatically calculated.
Provision for special taxing of Annual Bonus so not over deducted.
Records 4070 tips.
Handles all retirement and tax saving plans.
Pay can be allocated to cost centers by Branch, Department, Project.
A summary of the last 60 pays for each employee is kept on line for
immediate resolution of employee questions, unemployment insurance
questions, etc.
Pay may be by cash, check, or direct bank deposit.
Prints full range of reports including Payroll Register, Summary
Journal, Check Register, Quarterly and Annual Government Reports,
Employee Mailing Labels, etc. Laser and dot matrix supported.
Easy to interface to any accounting system through the Summary
Journal which shows exactly which accounts to debit and credit and
by how much. Even your own G.L. Account numbers can be printed on
this report.
All financial data for the most current pay and for the year to date
totals for each employee can be exported as .DIF or .DBF files if
further analysis is required in a spreadsheet or dBASE system.
W-2's can be edited before printing. A copy of the W-2 exactly as
it will print is shown on screen and any changes made at that time
will be reflected in the W-3 totals. Social Security and Medicare
are checked against earnings on an individual W-2 basis and you are
informed if any errors are found.
Version 4.1 available January 1993 will also support mouse selection
of menu items.
